Q. What makes one company different from another?

A. Having certified technicians who will perform the installation correctly. The bonding process between the glass and the body of the vehicle is the most critical component in a good installation.

Q. What can happen if a windshield or glass is not installed correctly?

A. There are multiple problems if a glass is not installed properly, these range from water-leaks, stress cracks, future rust problems, and the glass becoming loose in a crash.

Q. Are all glasses made the same?

A. Yes and No, most of the manufacturing process is the same but poor quality control can lead to distortion in optical quality, improper bending, and ceramic frits coming off the glass.

Q. How do you know who is a good manufacturer of glass?

A. Using the original manufacturer for a replacement is most times the best for your vehicle. There are times when using the original is not an option due to price and availability, in these situations the next best is using a glass manufacturer that has contracts for supplying the new car industry.  These companies have certain minimums for standards which they need to meet in order to supply glasses for a new vehicle.

Q. Is repairing a star crack okay and will it last a long time?

A. Depending on the location and size of the star crack most of them can be repaired safely and should last the life-time of your vehicle.
